Dear loved ones! You are hereby invited to a celebration of the recent joining of Kristjana Björg and Steindór Grétar in marriage. The event will take place at Treehouse Berlin on the 6th of August 2023, starting 4pm. We’ve also scheduled other events over the weekend so we have more opportunities to enjoy our time together.

Please RSVP in the form below. Let us know whether you can make it or not, how many people will be in your party, if you have any food allergies and if there is any other important information we should have. Please note that the celebration will not be suited for children.

  • Friday the 4th: Dinner for the visiting families of the couple. (This would be a good night for other guests to enjoy the famous Berlin nightlife!)

  • Saturday the 5th afternoon: Pizza party in beautiful Körnerpark in Neukölln (Americans call this rehearsal dinner - we call it free pizza!)

  • Sunday the 6th, 4pm: The celebration at Treehouse: dinner, drinks, dancing until who knows when! Attire: hot casual

  • Monday the 7th, noon-ish: The good people at Crazy Bastard Kitchen, Weserstraße 168 in Neukölln, will open their restaurant exclusively for us, offering a Mexican recovery lunch for a set price.

Treehouse Berlin is at Revaler Straße 99. It’s part of the RAW Gelände area, enter from Revaler Straße.

Accommodation

  • There are plenty of hotels to choose from. We recommend finding something close to any of the weekend’s events (they’re in the Neukölln, Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg neighborhoods). We’ve heard that Motel Plus in Neukölln is inexpensive and solid. AirBnB is another option, especially for groups. But the Facebook group Berlín borgin okkar may have the best deals; it’s mostly Icelanders renting out their apartments temporarily.

Transport

  • Public transport is a quick and comfortable way to get around in Berlin. You can buy individual tickets that work for all of the U-Bahn (underground), S-Bahn (overground) and Bus (bus). Tickets are available at train station ticket machines or with the BVG app.

  • The closest station to Treehouse is Warschauer Straße, accessible via U1, U3, the M10 tram, multiple S-Bahn and bus routes. Körnerpark is within a walking distance from the Neukölln and Hermannstraße stations, accessible via U7, U8, S41 and S42 (the Ringbahn) and other S-Bahn and bus routes.

  • Taxis can be ordered with the Free Now and Uber apps.

  • We also recommend cycling as a great way to enjoy Berlin. There are many bike rentals. An incredibly cheap one is Rent a Bike 44 on Mahlower Straße 9 in Neukölln.

  • Please note that supermarkets are closed on Sundays.

  • We can recommend many restaurants, make sure to book ahead where you can:

    1. Brunch: Geist im Glas, Spreegold, 21 gramm, Terz, Venue

    2. Mexican: Burro Unchained

    3. Pizza: Zola, Masaniello, Il Casolare, Trattoria Venezia

    4. Dumplings: Han West

    5. Korean: Kimchi Princess, Ssam, Mmaah

    6. Vietnamese: Kotti Dang, Monsieur Vuong

    7. Sushi: Roji

    8. Food halls: Markthalle Neun, Paolo Pinkel

Other activities we recommend during your stay:

  • Vabali spa: A wonderful spa and sauna experience. Nudity is mandatory in saunas and pools. Remember to book your slot in advance!

  • Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke: You can rent your own karaoke booth or perform on stage if you prefer. Book the large booths online in advance or show up early if you’re in a smaller group.

  • The lakes: Berlin is surrounded by beautiful lakes, perfect for a dip on a hot summer day. Schlachtensee, Krumme Lanke and Flughafensee are some of our favorites, but Wannsee is the way to go if you want more amenities on location (loungers, showers, food and drink).

  • Tempelhofer Feld: The former airport is now an open space for outdoor activities and picnics. Highly recommended on a nice day.

  • Treptower Park and Insel der Jugend: A park with the Soviet War Memorial close to an accessible island with a bar and paddle boats.

  • Museums and historical sites: Please don’t get too sad before the party!
